What do I do if my son is showing up in my daughter’s room at school, asks me to help him get an allowance for the first time, but says he can’t afford one? I have no idea what he’s going through, but I do know that if he’s really sorry, he’ll talk to me again. Now, I think what my son really wants to do is leave my daughter, and start a new life. I think that he’s been told by his counselor that he should try to find a roommate, and that he should do everything he can to avoid being with me anymore. I can’t blame my son for leaving me behind. I told him that it was because I wasn’t making good grades. When my son went to the counselor, he said that it had nothing to do with that. I had told him that he had a big test coming up, and that Icouldn’t afford to sit at home while he took the test. My son told me that he couldn’t see me without having someone to help him with his homework. I know what he meant when he said that he needed help with his homework, but my son says that he couldn’t afford to take the AP class. I guess what I’m asking is what do I do if my son is telling me he’s leaving for college. Do I hang up the phone, and cry, or call him back and ask if he’s going to school? I don’t want to let my son know that I’m upset about this, but I want to make sure that he doesn’t think he can leave us behind.
